On August 8, 1993, a group of around 30 people met in a member’s building in the Oaks Subdivision, and from that meeting came the vision of Rosedale Baptist Church. Within a week, the group held its first worship service in the store building next to the Rosedale Post Office, where they would remain for the next three years.
Ground was broken for the construction of the church building on February 25, 1995, and the first service was held in the basement of the building on December 1, 1996 with around 130 people attending the service. On October 11, 1998, the church had its first service in the sanctuary of the new building. The first baptismal service was held on November 8, 1998.
The first pastor of Rosedale Baptist Church was Rev. Stafford Compton, who served for seven years, from 1993 to 2000. After serving as the interim pastor for two years, Rev. J.C. Steele was voted as the next pastor at Rosedale on October 20, 2002. The current pastor at Rosedale Baptist, Rev. Jeff Kinder, began serving as pastor in April of 2011. For more information on Rev. Kinder, visit our “Pastor” page.
